Coffee thoughts

  Caffe Cherry Beans (Northland) 06/05/2023 Another slight deviation today as I had errands and the weather is not great. I've also gone to a café which I know does a really good decaf mocha because they use Belgian chocolate. It's definitely more expensive, but all three of us had a bit of a rough night so I felt like a treat. More on that later. Coffee review: Coffee look - 1 Coffee flavour - 1 Price - $7.60 = 1 (seems odd I know given how harsh I usually am, will explain though) Pram friendly - 1 Atmosphere - 0.5 Total: 4.5/5 So as I alluded to before I already know this café does a good coffee. When our baby was a newborn and we lived in Jacana (Broadie for those who don't know) I would treat myself to a decaf mocha ever week at the Caffe Cherry Beans in the Broadmeadows shops.   Fossette 28/04/2023 Slight deviation from my next list as I just had Pilates and have wanted to try this café for a long time. Yesterday was Grandad's funeral which I spoke at. It's been a stressful and sad week for me and my family, so I've decided to take a bit of me time while our baby is in childcare. Let's get into the coffee rating: Coffee look - 1 Coffee flavour - 0.5 Price - $5.80 = 0.5 Pram friendly - 0.5 Atmosphere - 1 Total: 3.5/5 The coffee looked really good when it came out. There wasn't much of a coffee aroma and my suspicions were confirmed when I got past the nice but thin foam. The coffee flavour is almost completely lost to the milk. A bit of a risk when you order a large, but one I feel should be overcome with good coffee. On the slightly more expensive side, but not too bad.   Coffee Plus 21/04/2023 I'm just tired right now. It's been a big couple of weeks and this is the first chance I've had the time and inclination to review a coffee post Easter weekend. And last weekend was just a terrible and busy blur. More on that later. Time for my review: Coffee look - 1 Coffee flavour - 0.5 Price - $5.50 = 1 Pram friendly - 0 Atmosphere - 1 Total: 3.5/5 The coffee looked good when it came out, but had little aroma. The froth was creamy and silky, and just the right amount. Unfortunately the flavour is lacklustre and, I'm not sure would improve in smaller form. It is a nice little café, but definitely not pram friendly. On good Friday my dad, husband, baby and myself all took the trip down to Geelong to visit my Grandad. We got down there at lunch time and of course because it was a public holiday all the food places were closed apart from big brand take away and one random bakery. We ended up at that bakery.   Laurent (Ivanhoe) 08/04/23 Finally, I'm here! I've made it to the last café on this list and it only took three months. The odd thing about where I'm sitting right now is that only a couple of months ago it wouldn't have been possible. I would have been in a wall or in an unoccupied shop. Laurent closed down for renovations a couple of months ago and there was so much speculation about if they would take over the old Romano's shop. Well, we were right and I'm glad they did. It looks amazing. My coffee just came so lets review: Coffee look - 1 Coffee taste - 0.5 Pram friendly - 1 Price - $8.16 = -1 (officially the most expensive coffee I've bought) Atmosphere - 1 Total: 2.5/5 The coffee looked fantastic when it came out. I could smell a bit of aroma when I sniffed but not a great deal. The foam was nice and not too thick, but unfortunately the coffee flavour gets lost in the milk.
